High energy prices and climate change concerns have put renewable energy on the worlds political and corporate agenda. Technologies include economically competitive first-generation technologies (biomass, hydro-power, geothermal energy), market-ready second-generation technologies (solar and wind energy, bio-fuels), and third-generation technologies requiring further R&D (advanced biomass gasification, solar thermal power, ocean energy). There are still quite a few non-technical barriers to the widespread use of renewables, but many countries have set targets and public policies to promote renewables, attracting considerable investment capital isinto the sector. Estimated growth is 20 % annually to well over 100 billion in 2007. Energy efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions also play an increasingly important role in supply chain management. Addventures has relevant experience in renewable energy, including bio-fuel production (Jatropha) and solar energy. We can: -
do an energy and GHG emission scan on your production chain -
propose measures to prevent, reduce or compensate emissions -
assist in planning investments in renewable energy (solar, wind, bio-fuel ..)
